I’m slowly getting less and less Micro$oft as time goes on – I downloaded Mozilla a couple of nights ago, and so far I’m impressed, to the point of being suprised at just how far behind IE has fallen. There didn’t seem to be much you could bolt on to a browser to improve the way in which they work, but Mozilla seems to have found a few tricks. I particularly like the tabs – simple idea, but it makes a big difference if you’re in the habit of opening multiple browser windows in the way that I seem to.
Which means I get to spend the summer (or at least part of it) in sunny Nottingham. Infinitely better than the alternative, which was spending a summer working on a desk project in Leeds.
Not sure what the answer is personally, but someone who’s thought about more than I have is Tom Coates – and he’s put what he things into a powerpoint presentation that seems to be based on some fairly sound assumptions. Worth a look.
