RSS definitely falls into the category of “damn good idea”, but then there’s taking it and using it in a way that just makes you stand back and think “why the hell hasn’t anyone else thought of that?”
PlusNet are providing an RSS feed for their service status messages, so every time one of their support staff updates the service status page, it’s available to aggregators. Simple, but incredibly effective. How long before that idea gets taken up by other organisations that have regularly updated status pages?
