Three bars in the most unlikely placef

Given that I’m currently at the far end of a valley in deepest darkest Lakeland, I was expecting to find that my mobile was going to be so much useless plastic. So I wasn’t too suprised to find that the O2 coverage gives about half a bar and not a lot in the way of GPRS, and even that only when standing on one leg in the middle of a lake.

So I was really suprised to find that the Orange signal is as strong as I’ve ever seen it. Ther are base srations in the srangest places. And it’s just as well I haven’t got around to cancelling the contract yet…

Off we go…

…for a week in the (hopefully) snow and ice at Langdale. Nearest wifi is in the next town in a pub, and the phone lines have baked bean tins at each end. Everything is charged, synced, backed up, and (will be) packed. The weather forecast is mostly rain, but I don’t care, because if I’m not in the pool I’ll be asleep. Can’t wait.
