Teazel have released version 1.2 of Blog Photo Diary, which allows posting of blog entries and photos direct from a P800 or 900. The clever part about this one is that the program creates a thumbnail image on the fly and posts this to the blog entry – clicking on the thumbnail opens the full image…

It works really well – a minor drawback is that it doesn’t have the facility for setting a category, and it’s fallen over (or as Teazel put it, thrown a kernel panic – I think I prefer that phrase
a couple of times when I’ve been using the on-screen keyboard to enter text – but otherwise it’s pretty damn impressive, and for $8.99 you can forgive a few rough edges…
I’ve been watching Spitfire Ace on Channel 4 this evening, partly deeply envious of the lucky git who got to spend 9 hours throwing a real Spirfire around the skies last summer, and partly humbled by the stories of the people who threw them around the skies while being fired at.
Ironic that at the same time as old men were telling quiet, matter-of-fact stories about acts of true heroism, Z-grade nonentities were drivelling psychobabble about eating a beetle. But then I guess IACGMOOH isn’t really aimed at me.
The fact that people like me were more likely to be watching Spitfire Ace obviously wasn’t lost on the advertising schedulers, either – I counted Cisco, IBM, Intel and O2 flogging the new(ish) XDA amongst the commercials in one break alone. A distinct absence of Pantene Probiotic micro-ceramide acti-complex mega-vitamin enrichment, in fact .
This is something worth celebrating – Wikipedia’s 200,000 article has been posted. And two or three of ‘em are mine…
When posting to Moveable Type using w.Bloggar (v 3.03.0165), the posting process ends with an error message 12152 HttpSendRequestFailed – although the post appears on the blog without any problem.
Having played around with the ping settings, it seems to happen when three sites are listed – Bulkfeeds (http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc), Yahoo (http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2) and Blogchatter (
http://www.mod-pubsub.org/kn_apps/blogchatter/ping.php) – although not completely consistently in the case of Yahoo. Take them out of the list, and all appears well.
My (admittedly inexpert) opinion is that it’s something to do with either a ping failing, or w.Bloggar timing out while waiting for a response from the MT server. Either way, it’s annoying – but at least there’s a work-around of sorts…
I might have stumbled across the best way of making bread in one of these here breadmakers – the last loaf has turned out rather well (so well in fact that it didn’t actually get cold before being completely devoured.) Unfortunately the search was a bit less than scientifically-rigorous, because I tweaked several variables ingredients simultaneously, but here goes:
The basic principles are don’t under any circumstances use margarine instead of butter – it turns out with a nasty oily tinge to the texture; do add some olive oil to the mix – a splash was what it got, so that’s probably worth 50 of your English millilitres; and don’t use the fast-bake setting, because it’ll end up too soggy in the middle. I also threw in a spoonful of black treacle. The end result is incredibly moist without being gooey, sweet without being overpowering, and the crust is crisp wihout shattering into shards when you cut it. Perfect with some goat’s cheese…
If you’ve arrived from Google looking for Chris Moyles, click here – but if you’re a fan, you won’t like it…
Posting this, I made the mistake of suggesting that Ferraris and snow don’t mix. This at the Ferrari Owners Club seems to suggest otherwise, although I did notice that there’s only one picture there where the car is definitely moving…
If you’ve arrived here from Google looking for Dell iPods, click here
– but it really isn’t worth it…
According to the local gossip, the River Ouse was supposed to reach it’s highest point at about 14:00 this afternoon – which looked something like this:

As a contrast, this is what things looked like back in October:
