Setting up a Pocket PC to use GPRS via Bluetooth

Another “simple job that’s taken all afternoon’ in a similar vein to the last one: this time, getting a Pocket PC (in this case a Dell Axim) to connect to the internet via Bluetooth and a GPRS mobile.

The prerequisites are as before – GPRS enabled on your mobile account, the phone set up with a working GPRS configuration and the Pocket PC and the phone paired.

Setting up GPRS internet via Bluetooth on Mac OS X

I’ve spend far too long over the last few days trying to get a simple Bluetooth-and-GPRS setup working – so having eventually figured it out, here’s a guide for anyone who stumbles across it via Google.
There are some prerequisites: you’ve got a GPRS-enabled account with a mobile provider; your phone and Mac are paired, and you’ve downloaded the appropriate GPRS modem scripts (check out this list if you’re short of modem configs).
You’ll also need a valid GPRS configuration on the phone itself – this will vary from network to network, but as a guide here’s the settings for O2 in the UK (on a contract):
