404 - your marketing cannot be found

I’m no expert, but if you have to email your customers to explain that no, your site isn’t broken, it’s just your latest marketing campaign - well, that’s not particularly effective marketing.
Pingdom is a site monitoring site that monitors sites, and does it quite well - unfortunately their marketing folks aren’t quite as good as their monitoring. This is the email I got this morning:
